When You Own An Internet Home Business You Will Have to Write
One of the first things you learn when you start your internet business is that writing is a great marketing method. But have you ever had the feeling that many of the newsletter and ezine authors are writing because they are told to, rather than having something useful to say. It is very common that people are writing to write and not to add quality or help for their future client base.
How can you change this?
Dale Carnegie has a fantastic saying, “You can make more friends in two months by becoming really interested in other people, than you can in two years by trying to get other people interested in you.”
So, what should you do as a brand new online business owner who is trying to ‘make friends’?
Write with a purpose. Imagine what your ‘clients’ may need and convey it in a simple, easy to read format. You don’t have to be long winded to get an important point across.
Be yourself. Write in your own words as it will make you a person who cares what the reader needs. Your aim is to be a real person who is paying attention to the needs of the reader.
Make it helpful to your business. If you are giving an explaination of a product or service, include your personal story into it. Keep in mind, you want to be a real person.
Be optimistic. There is a lot of negativity in our world, and people don’t need fear or warnings of misfortune. Keep your writing cheerful and discuss the positives of what you are explaining.
People like to be entertained. If you can get your point across with an anecdote, or with emotion involved, you will have a better impact on your audience.
Generate an internal response with the reader. Writing is a two way dialogue. What you write should produce a reaction from the reader. As a writer, I feel, we overlook that there are people who are going to be reading our words, we are in a conversation with them. Create words that create a picture, your reader will welcome it.
It is possible for anyone to communicate as a writer, and convey the message they want to get out. Think of those times in your life when you were telling a story, and your audience was listening to every word, you created the scene in there minds. As an Internet marketer you want to do the same thing.
Always have your writing in your words, do not be a person that you are not. If you are new to Online Home Business, discuss how you are overcoming obstacles, not how to be an effective marketer. As you gain experience you can write about specifics of marketing and what has been successful for you.
